For the manner in which men live is so different from the way in which they ought to live, that he who leaves the common course for that which he ought to follow will find that it leads him to ruin rather than safety.

Ain't had the time

UPDATE: Tools that are lined out have committed buyers. Others are still available.

Since my wreck back in April, I have not picked up a woodworking tool in anger. Nearly six months has passed, I'm just now starting to get back to the point where I have energy left at the end of the day. Sitting around and not doing much has left me with a lot of time to think.

I have too much crap going on (which is weird, because I haven't done a thing for 6 months). I have a kitchen remodel that desperately needs to be finished. I have a chopper to finish, and another to build. I am also going to start building a land speed racer once we get into winter. That's three bikes and a kitchen (let's not forget about rebuilding that lathe either)! Long story short, woodworking isn't even on the back burner anymore...it's off the stove top entirely.
Truth be told, I've never really had (nor have I taken) the time to get to an acceptable skill level. I'm a dabbler. I have too many interests. It's time to pare down. I've enjoyed getting my feet wet in the world of woodwork, but it's time to get out of the pool. If I expect to be good at anything, it needs to be things that I can dedicate time to. Time spent with wood is time not spent on bikes...and visa versa. Keep in mind I also bake, which is an incredibly expensive hobby (believe it or not).
I might still dabble in a little tool making...
In the coming weeks, my woodworking tools are going up for sale. I will most likely list them over at Sawmill Creek. Here is a list of what I will be getting rid of. If you read here and are interested, drop me a line and we can work out a deal. I have prices in mind already, it's just a logistical matter.

LV low angle jointer with O-1 iron, A-2 toothed iron, and fence
LV router with a couple extra blades
LN mortise chisels (1/4, 3/8, 1/2)
LN bench chisels O-1 (1/4, 3/8, 1/2)
Stanley chisels (1/2 & 3/8)
Various marking gauges (LV)
LV saw sharpening guide
LV 1/8 dovetail chisel
Pfeil burnisher
Pfeil 8/4 gouge
LN plane floats, edge and side
LN joinery floats, 1/2 mortise and 1" face
LV small plow with T/G kit
LV beading tool with various spare blades
Hock Jack
LV small router
Hock beader
Stanley 80M scraper
LV miniature shoulder plane
Let's not forget sharpening stuff...

There may be some other tools that go up for sale. If you are in the Milwaukee area, I have a bunch of saws that can go too. Shipping them isn't worth it. I will not likely sell my antiques (anyone want to pay me $600 for my Norris?). Another one for somebody in my local area would be all the wood.
Now that I've admitted to myself that I'm little more than a minor collector...this is a lot easier. Resources tied up in tools that aren't being used, are resources that are being wasted.
