For the manner in which men live is so different from the way in which they ought to live, that he who leaves the common course for that which he ought to follow will find that it leads him to ruin rather than safety.

Baking

I don't post a lot of my baking on here. So I'm going to take a minute to do so.
I love food, and I love making it. Baking is a rewarding and relaxing activity for me. It's a way to get friends together, and enjoy good food.
Here's a few of the items I've baked over the last few weeks. I'm glad I started going to the gym!

If there is anything I get a little arrogant about, it's my cheesecake. I prefer them plain. You can't hide mistakes when there's no added junk all over the cake.

I think that I found my favorite way to eat cheesecake is with some raspberry glaze.

A standard item in my kitchen is applesauce bread. I tell people to think about banana bread...but without waiting for the bananas to turn.

Coffee cake. Who doesn't love coffee cake?

With everyone going gluten free, I tried my hand at gluten free blueberry muffins. They came out very good.

Bacon focaccia bread with pesto.

My first try at Japanese cheesecake. It isn't very sweet, so adding fruit is a must. The simple syrup soaked in and messed up the texture a little.

Japanese cheesecake take 2. I worked on the technique a little, and decided to topping until it was time to serve. Much better the second time around.

  1. I like woodworking and cooking. I would rather cook something than do baking.

    1. Ralph- I do a lot of cooking as well. I'll have to dig up some pictures. I tend to shoot more pics of my baking though.
